5 Minute Madressa for the 19th of Rabi Ul Aakhir

(1) Islaamic History Conveying the Message of Islaam during the Hajj Season
When Rasulullaah(SAW) saw that the Kuffaar of the Quraysh remained adamant in their opposition, he used the Hajj season to propagate Islaam amongst the many tribes that came to Makkah from elsewhere. He personally went to each one of them with the message to forsake worshipping idols and to refrain from sin and evil. The Quraysh detested this and did their best to make the people shun Rasulullaah(SAW). In fact, Rasulullaah(SAW)’s uncle Abu Lahab used to walk behind Rasulullaah(SAW), announcing to the people not to believe in him because he was trying to distance them from their idols and sway them to a new religion. However, Rasulullaah (SAW) patiently persevered and continued his propagation. While some people were polite, others behaved most harshly and with great insolence towards Rasulullaah (SAW). It was during one of his visits to the people performing Hajj that Rasulullaah(SAW) met a group from the Aws and Khazraj tribes of Madinah. They accepted Islaam and promised to assist Rasulullaah (SAW) in his propagation.
(2) Allaah’s Power The Dead Sea
The Dead Sea is located in Jordan and is the site where Allaah overturned the cities of the nation of Hadhrat Loot (AS). The Dead Sea is 1300 feet below sea level and the peculiarity of it is that nothing can live in it and everything floats upon it.
(3) A Fardh Following the Imaam in Salaah
Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (RA) reports that Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Do not proceed into any posture before the Imaam.”
     [Muslim 932]
When performing Salaah behind an Imaam, all postures are to be performed after the Imaam. It is not permissible to precede the Imaam in any posture.
(4) A Sunnah The Sunnah method of performing the Sajdah
When he performed Sajdah, Rasulullaah (SAW) placed his nose and forehead on the ground, kept his arms away from his sides and placed his palms in line with his shoulders.
[Tirmidhi 270, from Hadhrat Abu Humayd (RA)]
(5) An Important Act and its Virtue The Du’aa after Adhaan
Rasulullaah (SAW) said that the person who recites the following Du’aa after the Adhaan will be deserving of his intercession on the Day of Qiyaamah:

اَللّٰهُمَّ رَبَّ هٰذِهِ الدَّعْوَةِ التَّامَّةِوَالصَّلٰوةِ الْقَائِمَةِآتِ مُحَمَّدِ نِ الْوَسِيْلَةَ
 وَالفَضِيْلَةَ وَابْعَثْهُ مَقَامًا مَّحْمُودَ نِ الَّذِيْ وَعَدَّتَهٗ

‘Allahumma Rabba hathihid-Daawatit tammah, wassalatil Qa imah ati Muhammadan al waseelata wal fadeelah, wa ib’ath-hu maqaman mahmoodan allathee wa’ad-tah’

‘O Allah, Owner of this perfect call and Owner of this prayer to be performed, bestow upon Muhammad al-waseelah (الوسیلۃ) and al-fadeelah (الفضیلۃ) and send him upon a praised platform which You have promised him.’
[Bukhaari 614, from Hadhrat Jaabir (RA)]

(6) A Sin The punishment for falsely reporting Ahadeeth
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Be careful when reporting from me and report only that which you are certain about. The person who falsely attributes something to me should prepare his abode in Jahannam.”
[Tirmidhi 2951]
(7) This World Being content with a little sustenance
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “When a person is content with a small measure of sustenance from Allaah, Allaah will be content with a small measure of deeds from him.”
[Bayhaqi 4409, from Hadhrat Ali (RA)]
(8) The Aakhirah The food of the people of Jahannam
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “There shall neither be any friend for him today (to assist him) nor any food except the filth remaining after washing (the puss and blood oozing from the wounds of the people of Jahannam). (It is a food that) Only the sinners shall eat it (in Jahannam)”.
[Surah Haaqa, verses 35-37]
(9) Cures from the Qur’aan and Rasulullaah (SAW) The cure for pneumonia
Rasulullaah (SAW) stated that Waras, Qust, and olive oil are effective in treating pneumonia.
[Ibn Maajah 3467, from Hadhrat Zaid bin Arqam (RA)]
Waras is a type of herb similar to the sesame seed, which is used for dyeing. Qust is a fragrant twig also known as Indian Ood.
(10) Qur’aanic Advice
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “Obey Allaah and obey the Rasool (SAW) and beware (of sin even if you do not understand the evils of it)! If you turn away (from Allaah’s obedience), then know that the responsibility of the Rasool (SAW) is only clear conveyance (of the message of Islaam. He is not expected to force people to accept Islaam)”.
[Surah Maa’idah, verse 92]
