BE PLEASED WITH THE DECREE OF ALLAH TA’ALA جل جلاله
Hazrat Imām Muhammad Ghazzali Sahib رحمه الله has advised that a servant should be pleased with the decree of Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله; the inner emotions (the rooh) should be satisfied with the decision of Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله. Some Ulama say that the one who is closest to Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله is the one who is most pleased with what He has destined for him. Some pious servants have said; “At times, happiness is the illness while illness is the cure.”
A poet has explained; “Many bounties are concealed for you within the jaws of calamities. Many an occasion of happiness comes to you from a place where you expect hardships. You should exercise patience over the incidents that take place in your life, for all matters have a consequence. For every difficulty there is ease and every untainted thing has a blemish.”
The words of Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله are sufficient for us; “Perhaps you dislike a thing while it is better for you.”
The warning of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم suffices as an admonishment for us; “The two things which I fear most against you are high hopes and following of desires. High hopes cause a person to forget the Aakhirah while following desires turns him away from the truth.”
