(1) Islaamic History The condition of people during the 6th century
Ignorance during the 6th century was rampant and people were completely unaware of religion. Idol worship was so common amongst the Arabs that every home had an idol of its own. There were 360 idols in the Kabah apart from the many more that were placed at different locations. In addition to these idols, the people also worshipped the sun, the moon, and the stars. As for the people who claimed to be following a divine religion, they had by then succumbed to adulterating the scriptures to such an extent that if their Ambiyaa ((RA)) were to return to the world, they would be unable to recognise the religion at all. They had been swept so far from their religion that they had forsaken Towheed and adopted acts that stank of Shirk.
