DEEN IS EASY
Hakeemul Ummah Hazrat Moulana Ashraf Ali Thaanwi Sahib رحمه الله has said that there is no hardship or undue difficulties in Deen. On the contrary, every conceivable aspect of Deen is easy and simple. The tenets of Deen are considered as hardships as long as Īmān is in the stage of intellectual understanding devoid of the emotional state (علم اليقين). After the acquisition of conviction acquired by spiritual vision (عين اليقين), every teaching of Deen will be seen as easy and simple.
Conviction acquired by spiritual vision is attained after initially struggling against the evil promptings of the Nafs, being obedient unto Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله, emulating the blessed lifestyle of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم and through constancy in Zikrullāh.
The excellence of man is to be steadfast on ibaadah despite being disinclined; and to abstain from transgression despite the desire to sin. The one who perseveres in this manner will be blessed with servitude.
