5 Minute Madressa for the 6th of Rabi Ul Aakhir

(1) Islaamic History The command to propagate
Rasulullaah (SAW) continued to visit the Cave of Hira after the first revelation, but after the first five verses of Surah Alaq were revealed, no more revelation came for a while. Rasulullaah (SAW) was once on the way to the cave when he heard a voice calling. As he turned to look about he saw no one. When he then looked up, he saw Hadhrat Jibra’eel (AS) sitting upon a platform suspended between the skies and the earth. Rasulullaah (SAW) immediately hurried home, where he covered himself out of fear. It was then that Allaah revealed the first five verses of Surah Mudathir, which states, “O you wrapped in a blanket. Stand up (among the people) and warn (them about Allaah’s punishment for rejecting Imaan). Announce the greatness of your Rabb (which is a most important element of your message). (When preaching Towheed, mind your appearance and ensure that you) Keep your clothing clean. (External purity complements internal purity.) (In addition to this, also) Stay away from filth (idols and sin, as you have always been doing)”. Rasulullaah (SAW) then started to call people towards Islaam. Because the Arabs had been steeped in Kufr and Shirk for centuries, it was not possible for Rasulullaah (SAW) to start propagating the message of Islaam openly. Rasulullaah (SAW) therefore started inviting people privately. The first woman to accept Islaam was Rasulullaah (SAW)’s faithful wife Hadhrat Khadeeja رضي الله عنهما, while the first man to accept Islaam was his childhood friend and business partner Hadhrat Abu Bakr Siddeeq (RA), who immediately said, “I believe and accept” when he was invited. The first child to accept Islaam was Rasulullaah (SAW)’s cousin Hadhrat Ali (RA), the son of Abu Taalib.
(2) Rasulullaah (SAW)’s Miracle The Du’aa Rasulullaah (SAW) made for Hadhrat Handhala (RA)
Hadhrat Handhala (RA) was still a boy when Rasulullaah (SAW) passed his hand over his head and made Du’aa for him. The effect of this Du’aa was such that whenever any person or animal suffered any pain, Hadhrat Handhala (RA) would apply some saliva to his hand, place it upon the place on his head where Rasulullaah (SAW) placed his hand and make Du’aa saying, “I take the name of Allaah upon the handprint of Rasulullaah (SAW)”. He would then pass his hand over the affected area and the pain would be alleviated.
[Dalaa’il 2470]
(3) A Fardh Performing Tayammum when no water is available
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Clean sand is a means of purification for the Muslim even if he does not find water for ten years. Should he then find water, he should pour it over his body (perform Wudhu and ghusl).”
[Abu Dawood 332, from Hadhrat Abu Dharr (RA)]
(4) A Sunnah The Du’aa when seeing a Muslim smile
The following Du’aa should be recited when seeing a Muslim smile:

أَضْحَكَ اللهُ سِنَّكَ

TRANSLATION: May Allaah always keep you smiling.
[Bukhaari 3294, from Hadhrat Sa’d bin Abi Waqqaas (RA)]

(5) An Important Act and its Virtue Concealing one’s needs from others
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “When a person is hungry or in need and he conceals his need from other (does not ask them for help), Allaah will take it upon Himself to provide him with a year’s supply of Halaal provisions.”
[Shu’abul Imaan 9698, from Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Abbaas (RA)]
(6) A Sin Regarding Halaal as Haraam
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “O you who have Imaan! Do not forbid (declare as unlawful) the pure things that Allaah has permitted (made lawful) for you (by regarding something Halaal as Haraam) and do not overstep (do not exceed the limits of the Shari’ah). Surely Allaah does not like those who overstep (exceed limits)”.
[Surah Maa’idah, verse 87]
(7) This World Allaah’s bounties
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “This (punishment) is because Allaah will not change (will not take away) any favour that He gave to a nation until they change what is within themselves (until they corrupt their beliefs and actions, thereby inviting Allaah’s punishment, which will cause them to lose all their bounties). Indeed Allaah is All Hearing, All Knowing (He knows the thoughts and actions of every person)”.
[Surah Anfaal, verse 53]
(8) The Aakhirah The people upon whom Qiyaamah will arrive
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Qiyaamah will arrive only upon the worst of people.”
[Muslim 7402, from Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Mas’ood (RA)]
The system of the universe will continue to remain in motion for as long as there is a single person on earth who takes the name of Allaah. However, as soon as no such person is left and only evil people occupy the world, Qiyaamah will arrive.
(9) Cures from the Qur’aan and Rasulullaah (SAW) Cure through the Mu’awwadhatayn
Hadhrat Aa’isha (RA) reports that when Rasulullaah (SAW) fell ill, he would recite the Mu’awwadhatayn (Surah Falaq and Surah Naas) and blow upon himself.
[Muslim 5715]
(10) Advice from
Rasulullaah r

Rasulullaah r said that when visiting someone, one should first request permission to enter. If permission is not granted after three requests, one should leave.
[Muslim 5633, from Hadhrat Abu Moosa Ash’ari (RA)]
