(1) Islaamic History After the first revelation
Because the revelation in the Cave of Hira was the first such experience Rasulullaah (SAW) had ever had, he was naturally frightened. He therefore hastened home, where he bade his wife Hadhrat Khadeejah (RA) to cover him. She did so and after he had calmed down somewhat, he related the incident to her. The caring and intelligent woman she was, she consoled him by telling him that Allaah would never cause him any harm because he had always been one who carried out acts of virtue, such as assisting the poor and needy. Hadhrat Khadeejah (RA) then accompanied Rasulullaah (SAW) to her cousin Waraqa bin Naufal who was a scholar of the Torah and Injeel. After Rasulullaah (SAW) had described what had occurred, Waraqa said, ‘This is the same spirit (angel Hadhrat Jibra’eel (AS)) whom Allaah had sent to Moosa (AS). I wish I could be alive until the time when your people would drive you out (of your city).’ ‘Will they drive me out?’ Rasulullaah (SAW) asked. ‘Oh yes,’ Waraqa replied, ‘anyone who came with something similar to what you have brought was treated with hostility. If I should remain alive to that day (when you will be driven out), I would give you my most ardent support.’
(2) Allaah’s Power The elephant
Compared to other animals, Allaah has granted tremendous stature and strength to the elephant. Its legs are like the pillars of buildings and it has ears as large as fans. Amongst its specialities is its large trunk. In a jungle where no machinery and cranes are to be found, the elephant can use its trunk and immense strength to uproot entire trees from the ground. Allaah has created this and other animals to serve the many needs of man.
(3) A Fardh The validity of all deeds hinge on Salaah
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Salaah will be the first of deeds to be reckoned for on the Day of Qiyaamah. If the Salaah is in order, all the other deeds will be in order. If not, all will then be found unsuitable.”
[Targheeb wat Tarheeb 516, from Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Qurt (RA)]
(4) A Sunnah Using the Miswaak across the breadth of the mouth
Hadhrat Rabee’ah bin Aktham (RA) reports that Rasulullaah (SAW) used the Miswaak across the width of the mouth (from right to left and left to right).
[Sunan Kubra (Vol.1 Pg.40)]
(5) An Important Act and its Virtue Not facing the Qiblah when sitting in the toilet
Rasulullaah (SAW) stated that when a person ensures that neither his face nor his back is turned towards the Qiblah when relieving himself, a good deed will be recorded to his account of deeds and a sin will be forgiven.
[Tabraani 1375, from Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (RA)]
(6) A Sin Failure to pay Zakaah
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “The person who fails to pay Zakaah is destined for Jahannam.”
[Tabraani in his Sagheer 934, from Hadhrat Anas (RA)]
(7) This World The consequences of making this world one’s objective
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “When a person becomes Allaah’s, Allaah assumed responsibility for his affairs and grants him sustenance from sources that he cannot fathom. As for the person who bows before the world, Allaah hands him over to the world.”
[Bayhaqi 1090, from Hadhrat Imraan bin Husayn (RA)]
(8) The Aakhirah The mountains on the Day of Qiyaamah
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “They ask you (O Rasulullaah (SAW)) about the mountains (what will happen to the mountains on the Day of Qiyaamah?). Say, ‘My Rabb shall completely remove them (shatter them to dust), leaving the earth as a barren (completely level) plain on which you will neither see any depressions nor any protrusions (with nothing standing above the ground).’”.
[Surah TaaHaa, verses 105-107]
(9) Cures from the Qur’aan and Rasulullaah (SAW) A cure from fever and other ailments
Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Abbaas (RA) reports that Rasulullaah (SAW) taught the Sahabah y to recite the following Du’aa when suffering from fever:
بَسْمِ الله ِالْكَبِيْرِ أَعُوْذُ بِاللهِ الْعَظِيْمِ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ عَرْقٍ نَعَّارٍ وَمِنْ شَرِّ حَرِّ النَّارِ
TRANSLATION: I begin in the name of Allaah The Great. I seek the protection of the Glorious Allaah from the evil of every boiling vein and from the evil of the heat of the fire.
[Tirmidhi 2075]
(10) Qur’aanic Advice
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “Verily Allaah and His angels send Salaah on the Nabi (SAW) (meaning that Allaah showers special mercies on him and the angels pray for him). O you who have Imaan! Send Salaah and Salaam to him (pray to Allaah to shower special mercies and peace on him by reciting the various forms of “Salaah and Salaam” reported in the Ahadeeth)”.
[Surah Ahzaab, verse 56]
