(1) Islaamic History The situation during the time of Hadhrat Isa (AS)
Although the people believed that Hadhrat Maryam (AS) was innocent of adultery, there were still many evil ones who doubted her innocence. In addition to this, she had seen the martyrdom of Hadhrat Zakariyya (AS). This and to protect her child from the tyrannical king Herod, she took her child to Egypt, where she lived for 12 years before returning to Baytul Muqaddas. Allaah revealed the Injeel to Hadhrat Isa (AS) when he was 30 years of age, at which time he started to propagate Towheed and renounce kufr and Shirk. Concerning the appearance of Hadhrat Isa (AS), Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “When I visited the 2nd heaven during Mi’raaj, I found him to be a man of average height and reddish complexion with long hair falling between his shoulders.”
