(1) Islaamic History | Building the Masjid at Quba and the first Jumu’ah Salaah |
Quba is a little suburb approximately 3 miles from Madinah. Many families lived there during the time of Rasulullaah (SAW) and their headman was Kulthoom bin Hadam. Before arriving in Madinah, Rasulullaah (SAW) stayed with him for a few days and Rasulullaah (SAW) himself laid the foundation of the Masjid there and assisted in the construction work. It is known as Masjid Quba and is referred to in the Qur’aan as the Masjid that was founded on Taqwa from the very first day. The Qur’aan also bears testimony to the purity of the people of Quba. Rasulullaah (SAW) stayed there for 14 days and left on the first of Rabee’ul Awwal. It was a Friday and he was passing by the homes of the Banu Saalim tribe when the time for the Jumu’ah Salaah arrived. Rasulullaah (SAW) therefore delivered a Khutbah and led the Jumu’ah Salaah there. This was the first Jumu’ah Salaah in Islaam and was attended by approximately 100 people.
(2) Allaah’s Power | The tongue is the spokesperson of the heart |
Together with the task of tasting our foods, Allaah has also endowed the tongue with the ability to act as a spokesperson for the thoughts of the heart and mind. A thought of the heart is formulated into words within the brain and then transformed into speech by the tongue, without which nothing of it can be conveyed to others. It is the miraculous creative abilities of Allaah that allow all of this to take place so harmoniously.
(3) A Fardh | Performing Ruku and Sajdah properly |
Rasulullaah (SAW) said that the worst thief was the one who steals from his Salaah. When the Sahabah y asked how this was possible, Rasulullaah (SAW) replied, “When he does not perform his Ruku and Sajdah properly.” [Ibn Khuzayma 643, form Hadhrat Abu Qataadah (RA)] |

(4) A Sunnah | The etiquette of Sleeping |
When Rasulullaah (SAW) retired to bed, he placed his right hand beneath his right cheek and then recited the following Du’aa thrice:
قِنِیْ عَذَابَکَ یَوْمَ تَبْعَثُ عِبَادَکَ اَللّٰہُمَّ
Allaahumma qinee ‘athaabaka yawma tab’athu ‘ibaadaka. TRANSLATION: O Allah, save me from Your punishment on the Day that You resurrect Your slaves. |

(5) An Important Act and its Virtue | Three persons are in the protection of Allaah |
Rasulullaah (SAW) stated that three persons are in the protection of Allaah. Allaah assures them of provisions as long as they are alive and of Jannah when they pass away. They are:

(6) A Sin | Imitating the opposite gender |
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Allaah curses the woman who dresses like a man and the man who dresses like a woman.” [Ibn Maajah 1903, from Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (RA)] |

(7) This World | Love for the world is a disease and the Cure |
Hadhrat Abu Dardaa (RA) once told the people, “Should I not tell you about the cure for your disease? Your disease is love for this world and the cure is the remembrance of Allaah.” [Shu’abul Imaan 10244] |

(8) The Aakhirah | The snakes of Jahannam |
Rasulullaah (SAW) said that the snakes of Jahannam are as thick as the necks of camels and when they bite a person in Jahannam, the pain of the bite will last for forty years. [Ahmad 17260, from Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Haarith (RA)] |

(9) Cures from the Qur’aan and Rasulullaah (SAW) | Treating headaches |
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “When applying oil, start with the eyebrows because this prevents headaches.” [Kanzul Ummaal 17206, from Hadhrat Anas (RA)]
(10) Qur’aanic Advice | |
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “O you who have Imaan! Sincerely repent to Allaah (repent with a firm resolve never to repeat the wrong). Soon your Rabb shall cancel (forgive) your sins (after repentance) and enter you into Jannaat beneath which rivers flow”. [Surah Tahreem, verse 8] |
