(1) Islaamic History The effect of the birth of Rasulullaah (SAW) on the world
The incident of the people if the elephants happened only 50 days prior to the birth of Rasulullaah (SAW). Historians write that exactly at the time of the birth of Rasulullaah (SAW) the palace of the Persian Emperor was struck by a tremor that caused 14 pillars to collapse and the fire in his temple that was kept alight for a thousand years was instantly extinguished. This was like an announcement to the world that the personality that would be the talk of the world was born and that the darkness that Shirk had spread throughout the world was soon to be dispelled. The seed of Towheed and good character was to be planted in the world and would replace the Kufr and evil that was profound at the time. The final Nabi was being prepared to guide not only a nation, but all of mankind until the Day of Qiyaamah.
(2) Rasulullaah (SAW)’s Miracle The eye of Hadhrat Rifaa’ah (RA) is cured
Hadhrat Rifaa’ah (RA) reports that when an arrow pierced his eye during the Battle of Badr, Rasulullaah (SAW) applied some of his blessed saliva to the wound and made Du’aa for it. It was immediately healed and appeared as if nothing had ever happened to it. [Dalaa’il 969]
(3) A Fardh Salaah will be the first action to be reckoned for on the Day of Qiyaamah
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Salaah will be the first action to be reckoned for on the Day of Qiyaamah. If it is in order, all the other deeds will be in order, but if it is found lacking, all the other deeds will be found to be the same.”
[Tirmidhi 413, from Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (RA)]
(4) A Sunnah The Du’aa for a good death
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “Never wish for death when afflicted by any adversity. If you feel that you need to make this wish, rather say:
اَللّٰهُمَّ أَحْيِنِيْ مَا كَانَتِ الْحَيَاةُ خَيْرٌ لِّيْ وَتَوَفَّنِيْ إِذَا كَانَت ِالْوَفَاةُ خَيْراً لِّيْ
TRANSLATION: O Allaah! Grant me life for as long as life is good for me and grant me death when death is best for me.
[Bukhaari 5671, from Hadhrat Anas (RA)]
(5) This World Being content with a little sustenance
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “When a person is content with a small measure sustenance from Allaah, Allaah will be content with a small measure of deeds from him.”
[Bayhaqi 4409, from Hadhrat Ali (RA)]
(6) A Sin Regarding the birth of a daughter to be ill fortune
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “(Describing the dislike that the Mushrikeen had for daughters during the Period of Ignorance, Allaah says,) When any of them is given the good news of a daughter (being born to him), his face darkens (out of misery) and he suppresses his fury (anger and disappointment). He hides from the people because of the terrible news that he received (he is ashamed to face others because they will ridicule him). (He then asks himself) Must he keep her with disgrace or bury her in the sand? Evil indeed is the decision that they (the Mushrikeen) make (when they decided to attribute daughters to Allaah whereas they themselves have such a great dislike for daughters)!”
[Surah Nahl, verses 58-59]
(7) This World The deception of this world
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “O man! What has cast you into deception concerning your Most Generous Rabb (Why do you continue sinning with the belief that Allaah will always forgive you because He is Generous? This attitude shows disloyalty to Allaah Who has blessed man with innumerable bounties. Among these are that Allaah is the One) Who has created you, perfected (shaped) you, gave you (your body) due proportion”. [Surah Infitaar, verses 6-7]
(8) The Aakhirah The rivers of Jannah
Rasulullaah (SAW) said that in Jannah there are rivers of water, rivers of honey, rivers of milk and rivers of wine.
[Tirmidhi 2571, from Hadhrat Mu’aawiya (RA)]
The wine of Jannah will not be intoxicating and have none of the unpleasantness of the wine of this world.
(9) Cures from the Qur’aan and Rasulullaah (SAW) The best of foods
Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “The best of foods is the first fruit of the season.”
[Kanzul Ummaal 28290, from Hadhrat Anas (RA)]
Although the fruits of the season are an important prescription to maintain good health and to protect against the illnesses of the season, the first fruits of the season are also the best of foods at the same time.
